Storm of Epic proportions

We had a thunder storm last night, the likes of which I don't think I have ever seen before. It had been extremely hot during the day which is what triggered it I think. But I was sitting down watching the 2nd of the Monday night football games and all of a sudden I started to hear thunder. I'm like..eh? was it supposed to rain today? I ignored it until a really loud clap of it nearly surprised me out of the chair. So I decided to go down and turn off the computer. While I was doing that I realized I had all my resin projects as well as both secret props sitting outside where I had been working on them. Freaking out I ran outside and pulled all my stuff in as fast as I could, all the while the brightest lightning I had ever seen was going on in the distance. Luckily it hadn't started raining yet but as I got upstairs again that all changed.
NOrmally storms of this calibur only last 1/2 an hour or so..this sucker wasn't done when I went to bed about 4 hours later. The lighning was intense and the thunder would have just about deafened you if you were outside. I guess it was lucky for us that an event earlier in the day had us put the horses inside of the night.
And that even was..they escaped. Its not fun chasing 4 horses around the neighbors house. Our neighbor was an old lady and she died a few days ago so all the family members were at the house for the last few days. Well the kids were apparently feeding the horses pears when Zippy decided to get closer to the food. So he pushed his way through the fence and the other three decided to join him. So there were four horses loose. The neighbor came to get us since we didn't know what was going on. You can't see that corner of the pasture from the house, and the sun was already gone so it would have been hard to see regardless. So we all trekked across the pasture with halters and lead ropes in hand and tried to wrangle up the four mischievous animals.
Took quite a while to get them since they were enjoying greener grass on the other side of the fence and were having fun running around at full speed. Finally though my mother caught Hoppy and while I tried to keep the others from going off into the woods or down the road, my father and the neighbors managed to herd Zippy and Thunder through the fence. Then I was able to get Phoenix and the excitement was over..for the time being.
So they are stuck in their stalls since the fencer blew as my father tested it last night. So until we can get a fencer to put some electric juice into the fence again, they will have to be in. Their own fault.
So yeah..yesterday was quite eventful.
