Next, OMG The Ugly...
This my friends classifies as the scariest spider I have ever seen and most definetely the biggest. And what do I find out? That although, not poisonous...it is the MOST COMMON in North Carolina. So uh..why haven't I seen them before? And, OMG that means I have to see MORE of them???



One of its many names is "writer spider" because of the designs it creates in its webs. There were also these HUGE pod things that we swear are going to bust open and send 1000s of baby uglies into the world to take over the place. *shudder* I don't like spiders..can you tell? My sister and I both screamed when the thing took off up the web when we were taking pictures.




And to take my mind off the ugly..I decided to take pictures of the cute..so here are Ginji and Phoenix!

And i'm surprised you've never seen a writing spider before, course I haven't seen one in years myself, there use to always be one or two that would make webs in my grandparents garden when I was a kid; but yeah they are scary and a bit intimidating, but they're harmless.

As much as I'm usually ambivalent toward spiders, I find writer spiders to be kinda cool. We've had a couple around here before.

Oh my freaking hell that is creepy. I hate spiders. And the pods...oh the pods. On another note, however, that first picture seriously looks like one you'd see in a magazine or science book or something. Nice job!

I should tell you about the time once when I was cleaning my apartment, and sitting on the floor picking up laundry. Then I go for the towel that I'd been leaning on the whole time, and see... something... curl its way back into a crevice of the towel. Turns out to be a GIANT brown tree spider the size of my fist.

Nice. I was scared, but it wasn't fast -- so I squished it. SQUISH. I have a picture of it somewhere...
