Otakon Part II...and much more

I swear..the hamster ball of doom is by far the greatest cosplay prop ever XD I mean...the icon for my costume on this one site..is a closeup of the ball XD This will never cease to amuse me. Check it out:

So anyway, horse show had a surprising twist...I actually won a class. yeah..go figure o_o A horse I haven't riden in over five years...a horse that hasn't seen a show ring in five years...and he wins Western Pleasure and behaves better then my mother or I could have ever anticipated. And I had a lot of fun riding him. He's so much different then Zippy. So powerful, carries himself like a morgan should. Its been a long time since I've been the outsider..the lone morgan amongst the 100 quarter horses that were at the show. And it sure feels good to beat them at what they supposedly are best at XD

Only downside of the show was it took them 9 hours to get through the English classes...Western was done in 2 hours. We got to the show at noon and sat there for five hours waiting for english to finish. It was insane. So my arms are a little sunburned but it isn't bad. We didn't leave the showgrounds until 7:30 at night. Longest show ever...

Saturday:
Woke up relatively early and changed into Seishirou. Omi and I headed to the convention while everyone else slept a little longer or started to get ready. Kingdom Hearts 2 was their cosplay of choice for the morning and we figured we would come back and get them later. Originally we were going to go to the dealer's room, but after sitting in line for about five minutes we decided to wander around instead and go outside to take a couple pictures.

The most amusing part of my day was walking past someone and hearing, "Is that a hamster ball? Awesome! It totally is!" I can't tell you how many times I heard that in some way XD As we were heading outside to take pictures, A Syoaran actually came towards us. I think he was a little surprised to see me, but prompty tried to steal my feather. Bad Syoaran-kun. After confirming that I would be at the photoshoot later, he went off in search of a Sakura-hime to protect.

So we took some pictures outside. Omi planted some nice fake flowers in the garden. Once we were done outside we decided to go back to the hotel and see if they were done getting ready. They weren't and infact, Riku wasn't even awake yet. Well he was awake, but not out of bed...So we headed back to the convention to wander around some more. Met up with Evenstar who was dressed as Axel and her friend dressed as Roxas and we went to the dealer's room together. It is very difficult to go anywhere with KH2 people cause they keep being asked for pictures XD After awhile we parted ways so we could go and find the others.

Eventually they did get to the convention center and took part in the Kingdom hearts photoshoot as Riku, Mickey, and a Dancer. We quickly escaped though because it was growing far too crowded and insane. We decided to get lunch, but before we could get out the door I received a phone call from my aniki! I told her where we were and soon Sanji and Usopp were there to see us! I got proposed to by Sanji and then we headed off to eat lunch as a big happy group.

Of course...food court was packed. There was no place to sit so we loomed around the tables until a group left and then quickly snatched the table. We took turns standing in the huge lines for food. I snacked on some potato chips that I had in my bag since I didn't have time to wait in one of the lines before my own photoshoot began..and I wasn't that hungry anyway. So as 2 O'clock approached, Omi and I left to run to my CLAMP photoshoot while the others stayed to finish their lunch. It was definetly a much smaller shoot then the one last year, but it was less hectic and insane, which is good. We even got a picture of just the Happy Sakurazuka-Sumeragi family ^_^ My mother is even there too! XD

The others caught up to us before the shoot. After it was done we went out and got pictures of the Kingdom Hearts trio. Afterwards Omi, Micky and Dancer headed back to change while Riku and I headed to the room where her friend was doing the interviews for her documentary. We stayed in there awhile adn talked with her and then went out to wander around a little more before heading back to the hotel room to change.

I changed into Hakkai and went back to the convention while the others headed to the masquerade. I decided to just wander around and take pictures. I also decided to check out the game room for the first time ever since I have started attending Otakon. Oh my god...you can fit your own little convention in that room. It is insane. And cool and spacious. So unlike every other game room at every other con. In there I saw Zangetsu who wanted me to come and hear him sing later. Talked for a few minutes and then headed out to take pictures. After a few hours (and several Hakkai fangirls later XD) I went back to the hotel to change into my Sasuke PJs I went back and wandered around the artist alley since it was nice and quiet and freaked many people out with my contacts ^^;; One artist squeed at how adorable I was and took my picture XD Then I went upstairs and saw Zangetsu sing before running down to the Naruto PJ Photoshoot. Once there I was happilly rewarded with some ramen from Susan and the others ^_^ And then..I was in the wrong place at the wrong time..cause I had a front row seat for a Naruto strip show. The others headed back to the room as the PJ shoot headed upstairs to play twister (yes you read that right XD) Hayate from Katsucon was at the gathering! Yay for him ^_^

Once the gathering was done Riku and I headed downstairs for awhile, where EBK met up with us and I got this picture of him and Itachi-teddy! He took some pictures of our costumes and then we decided to head towards the rave to saw goodbye/goodnight to Lynn and the others. On the way I saw Masayume, and we stopped to talk for awhile. And then I climbed into her skirt (yes, you read that right XD). The pictures of that are quite amusing ^_^ Even the kinkos copy ninja took our picture XD cause he was sitting at the table next to where this was occuring.

We stayed and chatted for awhile and then Riku and I continued our trek to the rave. Amusingly enough, Kendall was at the entrance...Tohru was at the entrance to the small room...Lynn was at the exit to that room...and Kyou was at the exit to the main rave. So I was able to find everyone very easily XD Then we headed back to the hotel and actually loaded some of our stuff into our cars.

Sunday
Relatively uneventful day. Got dressed as Tasuki again because I didn't want to fight with my Ed wig or automail and didn't want to be Ed #2652. Finally managed to spend some time in the dealers room. Bought some Initial D manga, Scryed boxset, subscribed to NewType (got a free issue, Menchi plushie for free, and free PK pig hat)...and I think thats it. I behaved myself very well in the dealer's room ^_^

Seimei and Kathy decided they wanted Starbucks so I sat down on the ground and waited for them to go through the insane line (it took them 40 minutes!) While I was waiting Susan caught up with us and kept me company. While we were sitting on the floor a girl came up to me and said, "I have a present for you." I turned to look up at her and she stuck a paper ribbon that she had made to my shoulder. It said 'Your cosplay is my hero.' Then she said, "Your cosplay is my hero cause you're Tasuki." And then she ran off. That made me happy ^_^ I know..I'm a dork. Anyway, Susan and I decided to go upstairs and take a picture of the Photo Suite sign since our picture was on it! Then we went down and waited for them some more.

Finally they had their coffee and we met everyone at the fountains and said goodbye. We had the cosplay.com photoshoot and then headed across the street to get something to eat where we met up with Seimei's friend. After eating we headed back to the convention center cause I wanted to say goodbye to some more people, but they were kicking everyone. Apparently the center closes at 3PM. So we saw EBK outside and said goodbye to him before going off to take a few pictures. Once that was done we headed back to the convention center and i briefly met up with c_girl who was having ride difficulties. Unfortunetly we were heading out so i couldn't stay and talk with her.

So then we headed home and I managed to find my way out of Baltimore very easily! But there was some nasty traffic cause of all the con goers and all the baseball people (did I mention there were Yankees Vs. Oriols games throughout the weekend...yeah that was insane.) We drove to Yuki's house and spent the night and hung out. Then on Monday afternoon we headed back to HOllins where I dropped off Kathy and then I headed home.

And that concludes Otakon 2006! I'm sure I missed some things...but not bad for it being a few weeks after it all happened ^_^

Congrats on your winnings! Looks like you (and the horse) still have it in you ^_- Not that you're an old lady or anything ^o^. And glad to see that you had fun at Otakon! I wish I could have gone, but alas, it was not to be. And this is bothering me...who in the world is Dancer? I don't recognize it at all plus it's a goofy looking chara. Is it from KHII?
