So today was the long awaited second MRI/CT Scan thingy. Honestly I'm not sure what the difference is and which I got exactly...people called in an MRI but CT Scan stuff was checked on my form..don't know.don't care. Just tells me how much cancer crap is left in my body.

So I got to the hospitol early..which was a mistake because they were busy in the radiology department and I didn't even see a receptionist until 1/2 an hour after I was supposed to be there so I spent almost an hour just sitting there.

Finally I got in to see the check in person and she happened to be a three time cancer survivor but didn't really know my doctor other then to go see him for bloodwork on occassion. We talked for a little bit which led her to bitching about insurance and medicaid and why I should have a card without question. I love how everyone I talk to outside of the government believes I should have this magical card and yet...still denied. Hmm.

Anyway, went back to wait for name to be called. My appointment was scheduled to be at 1:30..at 2:40 I went back to get ready for my scan. They asked me a bunch of questions and then asked whether I wanted my port stuck or my arm. I was like...wait..what!?! Geh..had I known I was getting stuck I would have put on my numbing cream, but alas I had forgotten that I was to get dye put in by IV. Crap. So I braced for impact into my port. Damn it hurts without the cream. But I maintain it is better then the arm. So now in pain, I mentioned that I didn't have to drink the nasty lemonade this time...big mistake. Apparently I should have been given the nasty lemonade.

So I was given a "Creamy Vanilla Smoothie" and told I had to drink as much of it as I can within the next 20 minutes and was sent out to sit in one of the curtained waiting areas. This smoothie has the consistancy of melted vanilla milkshake and tasted like ass. Seriously. Barium is never good, no matter how many ways you try and mask it.

Twenty minutes later I was taken back into the room after drinking about 2/3 of the foul liquid. They set me up with the IV, was told I would feel like I had peed myself because of the fluids but not to worry because I really didn't pee myself and was sent through the machine.

The scanned my neck and everything down to my pelvis. I won't know the results of it until I go for chemo next week. So everyone keep your fingers crossed that things are looking good. I was then detached, was given three saline type liquids that made my mouth taste like a combination of metal and plastic, and sent on my way. While I was waiting for my perscription to be refilled at Walmart I felt pretty sick but that passed by the time I left.

And that was my day. I'm trying despretely to get everything done for AWA this weekend. There ar ethings I wish I could rip apart and start over with, there are other things that I'm so proud of I could burst. Overall..I have way too much to do.

Tomorrow I go for my bloodwork and then the rest of the day will be spent attempting to be ready to leave on Thursday.

Barium = foul beyond belief.

I wasn't told it was a "creamy vanilla shake" but rather that it was a "milkshake". Ugh. The sad part is, Chick-Fil-A chocolate milkshakes actually have a similar taste to them, so to this day, if I have one and think too hard, I feel sick and have to stop drinking it. -_-;

I downed about a cup and a half of the barium stuff, but then they wanted me to drink another cup. I told them that if I had any more I was going to throw up, which would completely defeat the purpose. They still wanted me to sip on it. I'd take a sip or two, gag, calm down, repeat the process. Ugh.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, but at least it's done for now.
