Guess who has a runny nose >_> Yeah..not good. If I end up getting a full blown cold I won't be able to have my chemo on Thurs and a hospitol stay might be in my future. Every keep your fingers crossed. BUt you know what...I don't care. Otakon was worth it. Right now though it is just a runny nose so I'm not worried.

Left at 6AM on Friday to get to the convention. My father was driving and I spent my time sleeping and reading manga. We got to the hotel around 12:30, right on schedule. We unloaded and I headed up to the room to get changed for my photoshoot.

With father in tow, Deathgod and I got to Masayume's Tsubasa shoot just in time. We got some pictures taken and about an hour later I was ready to get out of my crazy hot coat. I did manage to say hello to several people such as Masayume and Star_Angel and EBK while I was there. My father, Kathy and I headed across the street to get some lunch and after that went back to the hotel where I changed into Sasuke.

I put on my mask and we went into the dealer's room to wander around. I headed to the booths in search of genjitsu or rukawagf but failed to find either one. Looked at the contact booth for some Fai contacts but failed at that too. Feeling a bit discouraged I wandered around a little more before we went on the hunt for the elusive exit. I swear we walked the entire room twice just trying to find out way out of it. The mask was also starting to irritate me. It was hot and I didn't like it at all and was ready to take it off (it was incredible difficult to put on and off over my Sasuke hair).

As soon as we exited the dealer's room we spotted my sister and Cat in their Ms. Lovette and Sweeny Todd costumes. My father snapped a few pictures of them before the group of us headed back upstairs to meet up with Deathgod and the others. Finding them at the fountains we decided to all head to dinner at the tortilla place. I wanted to change so I headed to the hotel to get into Sena and pick up Sonnet. Once I had changed and "Detoxed" as my family calls it whenever I have to degerm myself from being in public we headed down the street to the tortilla place.

After dinner Deathgod and Sonnet went to a panel, My father went on a walking tour of the area and the rest of us went back to the con to wander around. While in the halls of the con someone actually recognized my Sena outfit so I was pleased. We also played some football in an empty area of the convention. Sena Vs Sora Football game for the ages. We determined that they were probably related in some way because they had the same haircut.

Eventually my father met back up with us and we headed down to the game room and wandered around. (we were looking to see if there was an Eyeshield 21 game). That was basically it for Friday and so we went back to get some sleep.

Saturday I started out the day in Syaoran. Kathy and I went to the terrace to take some pictures before meeting up with my father downstairs. I got a picture with a Sakura before heading over to Subway for some lunch. After lunch I went back to the convention with Deathgod as Kurogane and me as my child Fai. We were meeting up with Lynn and Kendall who were dressed as Chii and Freya. Once we finally made it across the center (which was tough because we kept getting stopped for pictures) we headed up to the photo suite to get some group shots.

After awhile we headed to the dealer's room. I had a list that I wanted to try and get some items off of. I managed to finally find Genjitsu at the booth and got to say hello. Then I got one item on my list for a good price (Naruto box 5). After we were done in the dealer's room we headed back towards the fountains where I managed to encounter more friends (including Vikki!). When I was standing with Deathgod at the top of the escalators getting our picture taken a staff member came up to us and asked to see my staff. I handed it to her and she put it up against the elevator door. This is how the encounter proceeded:

Staff: This elevator door is 8'6 and your staff is above that. It is too large and you need to take it out of the convention RIGHT NOW.
ME: I've been carrying it all day and no one has said anything
Staff: We catch them as we see them. It can't go through a doorway straight and so it is a safety issue. You need to go outside and take it back to your hotel immediatly. *points to door we are next to*
ME: I'm looking for a friend and then we were leaving to change anyway.
Deathgod: She can't go out in the sunlight and we have a disability badge. We are going to look for our friend and then leave through the center.
Staff: *starting to falter* Oh...okay fine.

So the disability badge and the help of Deathgod saved me from having to walk outside the length of the convention center. I have to say though I was a bit irritated with the whole proceeding, especially since there was a Kenshin character carrying around a sword that was easily 12 feet tall the entire weekend.

The funny thing is, we were in the fountain area for at least another hour and walked the entire length of the convention without anyone else saying anything about it. Anyway, went back to the hotel and changed into my kimono Fai. We walked over to watch some of the skits and then I went back to the center to get some dinner. My father, sister and Cat ate at a bar and grill across from the con. Then I headed back to the con to wait for Deathgod in her kimono Kurogane.

I said hello to EBK and lionboogy who were practically passing out in the corner of the fountain area. My father and I settled into a spot to wait and eventually she arrived and we headed off to the Sheraton with lionboogy for some pictures. We determined that I am the bionic cosplayer because of my port aka my battle wound as it was called this weekend. We chatted with Lionboogy (my father fell asleep in the chair near us XD) before running back to the con for the midnight CLAMP shoot. There we finally saw rukawagf I got to chat with her for a few minutes before we headed back to the hotel to get some sleep.

Sunday we woke up, packed the car and were off. I didn't get to go to the con except to pic up my pictures from the photo suite. Luckily it was an uneventful ride back to NC. I slept through most of it.

And that was Otakon. Very easy, calm, and just what I needed. To see people I care about and hang our with those that I only get to see a couple times a year.
