tohma2004Today we went and checked out a horse show arena that is holding a horse show tomorrow. But after returning home we found that Zippy had developed a cold. So there will be no going to a horse show tomorrow. Meh..its always something.
Told Pam she was ousted from the Nekocon room because my friends didn't trust her not to bail on them again. SHe went off on a tirade about how I must have badmouthed her and sad mean things and what not. Pam..your actions at Animazement spoke for itself. I find it amusing though that my mother sides with me on this and doesn't blame Yuki and them at all for that decision.
Its funny though..when Yuki was about to tell me that she didn't want Pam in our neko room...I had this fear in my head that she was about to tell me that she didn't want ME in the nekocon room and that was why she didn't want me to be mad. There was momentary panic in my head, but that is better now.
Anyway, random yes? Whee.its random day. hmm..Animazement report? Maybe a quick one.
Okay so Thursday was basically loading up and traveling down day. Pam and Cat headed out first in the van while Me, Suzu and argent headed out in Argent's car. We had several stops to make. The first was CB to see my schedule (which was of course..without my name on it AGAIN). Then we stopped in Winston so Suzu could get gold bias tape and I could return the pants that didn't fit Dee. Then the rest of the trip was straight to the con.
We got to the hotel and had to wait for Pam to get there with our stuff since Argent's car only had artist alley supplies in it. I called her and they were still a ways a way so we sat around the hotel for a few minutes. Yuki also called to say that they were two hours out. Eventually stuff and people all arrived and we headed over to the con where the longest registration line in Animazement history was formed.
never..NEVER have I had to wait in line to get my pre-reg badge. It was utter madness. After I got out of line though I found that Ouenden goodies had been delivered to Utai successfully and found her, Dark, and cardcaptorKiki all in line for autographs. I normally don't do much for Thursday activities but they convinced me to stay with them and get my book signed. Everyone else headed back to the room for last minute sewing. I *gasp* was done with that. (kinda)
Got everyone's autographs but was dismayed to find that Kougaiji's Seiyuu was not there. I prayed he would be there for his autograph signing the next day so that I wasn't forced to wear Kou all day for nothing.
Hung out with CCKiki for awhile before finally pulling myself away to go back to the hotel. We practiced the skit for awhile before I started to wonder if I should contact Pam or just wait for her to get to the hotel. finally at 12:30AM I gave her a call, only to find out she wouldn't be staying in the room with us. Fuming, I crawled into bed but did not sleep very well.
Friday I got up crazy early cause I couldn't sleep anyway and started getting into Kougaiji. It was a good thing because I had to reopen the holes in my ears and it was a long and painful process that Argent can attest to. I never thought I would get that damn earring in, but finally I was able to. Makeup and ears on and after about 2 hours of getting dressed I was ready to go. We headed over and started setting up the artist table. I chose not to speak to Pam for most of the day.
Went and got Alucard's Seiyuu's autograph on my Hellsing poster but was denyed with Kougaiji's was no where to be found. Apparently he was sick and could not come. I did manage to get pictures with two Sanzos but that was about the only Saiyuki I saw all weekend.
I was supposed to change into jumpsuit Fai after Kou but because I had yet to see Star_Angel at all and the CLAMP shoot was going to start soon I just got straight into Yuui which I was hotgluing together at the artist alley table about 30 minutes before the shoot. (not my fault..I had only just received the piece that was to go on top). Not knowing what I looked like or even if the costume would hold together I hussled to the photoshoot. Luckily CCKiki was around to keep me sane in my "Garbage Bag" Yuui. Slowly the clamp characters assembled and we got some pictures inside before moving outside where the shoot was supposed to take place.
Just as I thought we were done, Evenstar1 showed up in little Fai (my match) with Vic..whatever his last name is (voice of Fai in the DUB) dressed in her regular Fai outfit. so of course, more pictures are taken until people start to finally break away, but now everyone wanted a picture with Vic, so we were outside a little longer. Finally we migrated back inside and I headed back to my table to hide in my garbage bag while Evenstar1 took Vic back to get out of the costume.
She showed up a little later and we got some pictures taken by Hiro in our outfits before she headed off to change and i...continued to sit at the table in the garbage bag. Around ten I think it was we packed up the table and headed back to the room.
Saturday was crazy. I got up early and started the seemingly endless process of putting on Cain. But unfortunetly I discovered that my contact case had been put in the car so I couldn't put my contacts in until I got to the con. So I was "Intellectual Cain" for the walk to the con. As always it took two helpers to get me in. I can't wait to retire this costume...
We set up the table and then just had to wait for the TB photoshoot. People keep asking for my picture so I kept having to shimmy my way to the corner. At one point my wings got caught on a sign but the table next to us helped me out U_U Luckilly she was really nice and said she had loved all my costumes this weekend. *blush*
Anyway, eventually Evenstar1 showed up and Suzu and Kakyou and I headed towards the lobby so we could roundup any stray TB people and go outside. Fansview caught us though and had us sign release forms (look for us in the Animerica handouts you find at best buy and bookstores!). By then there was a circle of people waiting for us so it took a while to actually get to the lobby.
Once we were outside we took a few pictures when suddenly an Ester ran up to us. We were like yay! More TB! Then out of the corner of her eye Evenstar1 spotted a Lillith! We were like..OMG..MOM! So she ran over to retrieve our mother. A few more pictures were taken and then we all headed inside. Me to perch behind the table before chess, which is what I did. Kakyou helped me take the wings off at one point and get them back on. But it was nice to have a break for a few minutes.
Then I headed off to chess where I was equiped with a balloon and named KING of the anime side. MWAHAHAHA. Of course I am king. I was a little wide for the squares of the chess board so I had to stand to the very back of them but as soon as the pieces around me moved I was able to stand on my square. I actually got to kill someone this time. Some poor Fatel Frame (i think) character with a camera. I tickled her with my claws at one point and was told (jokingly) that sexual harassment was not allowed and that I had to stop. Cain was sad.
Then..all my minions were dead and it was just me to make my lonely one block at a time way towards the other end of the board. Then...four against one...I was taken down in a mass of pokemon furriness that I will not soon forget.
With chess done I was free..FREEEEE! I escaped to the hotel room where I rid myself of the loathsome backbreaking costume for something far more comfortable. I got into 175 splash page Fai and headed back to the convention.
I managed to find our Syaoran and CCKiki easily while I was looking for our 2nd Sakura (whom I sadly never found). I sat with Syaoran awhile until a rather loud singing crowd started to form next to us, and then we retreated to my artist table. Yuki and Hiro were already sitting there in Sakura and Kurogane so after waiting until 4PM we headed outside to get some pictures. There was much sillyness and I managed to set up some fun black/white shots with Yuki and CCKiki who was in her Infinity Sakura outfit.
When we were done we headed back inside and I went to my table while they went to get into Grease Naruto for our skit. I actually changed under my table. When they got back we went to get into line and that in itself was one huge fiasco.
I think they were an hour behind schedule when they finally filed us into the holding room and lucky for us our little ticket and place in line were good enough for a place in the masquerade. A good hour after that we started, about 1/2 hour or more late I think. We were entry 32. The crowd seemed a little uncertain about the whole Naruto Grease thing with the intro but once we got rolling they were laughing and clapping along and screaming. I got catcalls in my "Danny" Sasuke outfit apparently. Our little "yaoi" moment with Naruto got major cheers. It was awesome. What was wierd though was people kept coming up to me and going "You were the Mana Manna Sasuke! I loved that skit!" *sweatdrop* geh..people remember that skit? And you remember it was me? Yikes. Anyway, We ended up bringing home 2nd place in the Veteran category. Sadly we didn't get a group picture, but there are plenty of rediculous skit pictures online. Then I headed back to the table to pack it up and head back to the room.
Sunday I shimmied my way into Jade Country Fai and headed to the con. It was a pretty low key morning and then at 11ish I left Kakyou in charge and headed over to the craftsmanship judging. It was a good thing I did because I was entry 31 of 50 allowed in. and within minutes entry 50 was given out. Phew.
Seemed like I waited around forever until they finally started to take people in for the judging. First we had to get out picture taken and the guy helping was like "Here she comes again, can't let anyone else have a chance." I was just like ack! What? Apparently I was remembered from my costume last year O_o. (last year I wore coat of doom Fai).
When it was finally my turn I started to introduce myself and the first judge goes: "Didn't you have a big white coat with a design last year."
Me: *in head: oh no...* to judge in embarassed tone "Yes..Yes I did"
All three judges: Not a novice *proceeds to circle things on paper*
It was the same three judges as last year and apparently they all remembered me and all remembered I had won an award. I was just like...oi vey..why me? But I proceeded to talk about my costume and then go on stage and show it off before wandering back to my artist alley table to sit and wait for closing ceremonies and the results.
We shut down the table around 3 and waited for Cat and Pam to get back from their panel. We rushed and got everything in the Van before running to closing ceremonies. I ended up winning 3rd place in the Veteran category and as I was heading up to get my award all I could hear in the crowd was "oooh ahhh." and "what an amazing costume" *blush blush*
I got up to the stage where the voice actors were sitting and Vic goes "I love you Fai" so I played along and blew him a kiss, which he proceeded to blow one back at me. Ah the crowd loved it. once I got my award I started my trek back to my seat (we had to sit in the last row right Kakyou? x_x) Once I was in my seat though I pulled out the nice crisp $100 bill from my envelope and my eyes went O_O!! score XD
Closing ceremonies let out and I said goodbye to Kakyou while I went to the lobby to wait for Pam to get back. Her and Cat had gone to get something to eat so I had to wait for them to pick me up. While I was there though many people went through that I knew including some unexpected ones (James..WHUT? O_o) So I chatted with several people and eventually Pam and cat arrived and we started our trek back home.
And that..ladies and gentlemen..was Animazement. Well..perhaps the abridged version.
