...O_o....
Most of the quiz thingys aren't working for me so I'll just have to do them later.

Anyway, my weekend..lets see..how to start..right, the beginning.
Well I went to an anime convention in Toronto this weekend. We only went for Saturday and Sunday, but i was a small con so that was okay. But they were showing more anime that I wanted to see than Otakon was, which seems strange. Anyway, it was a Sci-fi, Comic Book, and Anime convention in one, so there were a bunch of Trekies running around. Leonard Nemoi (sp?) was going to be there that day so it was a pretty big day for the Star Trek people. It was really amusing. On the ride to the con Pam got excited because their was a hotel or something called Legato, like the bad guy in Trigun. When we got there we stood in this huge line for registration, but we didn't have to stand in it long because these two older Japanese ladies came up to us and sold us their tickets for less than normal value. They said they had to leave and couldn't go to the con. We of course accepted the tickets, and saved the nice ladies from wasting a lot of money. So after we managed to avoid the long line we did a little costume watching. There was an entire Lord of the Rings cast and of course..what con wouldn't be complete without a Matrix character or two? There wasn't many people dressed up on Saturday, but there was still some decent costumes. I was dressed up as Tokyo Babylon Subaru and Pam dressed up as Vash the Stampede. I was the only Subaru and there were about three other Vashs there. We basically wandered around the con on Saturday, went to the Anime Music Videos (They were okay..there was a funny Various Anime one to a Wierd Al song) and then went to the Masquerade. It took place on the stage that they tape Canadian Idol which I found kind of humerous. We didn't stay at that long though because it kinda stunk. All a lot of people did was just walk across the stage and we were getting hungry so we decided to just go back to the hotel room. The MC was good and the crowd was funny, but I just didn't want to sit there for three hours watching crap. I think there was going to be a Fushigi Yuugi skit that I wanted to see but I didn't want to wait around all night. I just got a picture of the Suboshi, Tomo, and Chichiri that were there. The chichiri was pretty cool, the fact that there was a Tomo was awesome, and well...I'm a cooler Suboshi ~_^ BUt he was okay...though my weapon kicks his ass >_>

Well, we went back to the hotel and got something to eat before heading down to the basement where the Anime All Nighter was being held. They basically just watch Hentai Animes and sing Kareoke I guess. Its basically the replacement to a Rave/Dance that the other cons I have been to had. Which reminds me, in the dealers room was a Playstation 2 trailer set up..which was their version of a Game Room. And artist alley was a part of the dealers room. Like I said, this was a fairly small con. We watched a little of the anime which everyone thought was hilarious..but I didn't find it that funny. *shrug* I got my picture taken by a person who has a X and related Clamp series website and list thing. Its called Happy Shiney People or something like that. I'm gonna check it out a little later. We didn't stay long there either because we were both pretty tired.

Sunday we took one final look around the dealers room and then headed to the anime viewings. We sat through half of fake, a few episodes of Yami, and then I watched the first two episodes of Mirage of Blaze. It looks pretty good so I might try and get some of it when I get back to school. We then did a little more costume watching before my parents arrived to take us home. It was a fairly uneventful weekend compared to Otakon, but I still enjoyed it. On the last day I got a picture of Spongebob, the LoTR crew, a trekkie, FLCL people, and a few others.

So I'm home now, tired and broke again. Not that I had that much money to spend anyway. But I did get the Saiyuki box, a few posters, GW art sketches, an adorable GW chibi toy, and a couple other things. And the best part...it was all in Canadian and much cheaper than it would normally be. I saved about $10 on Saiyuki and $20 on the GW sketches. I don't even think I spent over $100...well considering I had a total of $100 to pay for registration and everything, I know I didn't spend over $100.

So I had fun and got to experience a con that was a combination of a lot of things. Which was cool ^_^
