Okay so Friday I worked twelve hours, loaded up the car and Pam and I headed to Elke's house. We got there at about 11PM and unloaded. As we were getting ready for bed, Penny (Elke's cat) somehow managed to poke a hole into the air mattress so it started to sadly deflate. But I decided to sleep on it anyway because I'm used to deflating air mattresses. (AWA 2008 anyone?).

During the night Penny used the air mattresss as a trampolene and chased my feet. But somehow I managed to get some sleep, woke up on a completely flat air mattress and then proceeded to get dressed and ready to go.

So Saturday was a very early day. We got up around 5:30 or some ungodly early hour and got ready. We got in the car and headed to SC around 7:15. Elke was like, "We don't have to listen to Ms Garmin, she's taking the long way!" And so we passed the exit that smart ol' Ms Garmin wanted us to take...and a few seconds later. "oooh..wait..yes we did want to go west." *Facepalm*

So after a short distance we got turned around and started back in the right direction. We were watching our arrival time very closely because Elke was staff photographer and needed to be there at 10 to start taking pictures. Because of our little detour our arrival time became 10:03. Oh noes! Must make up time!...except Elke drank her Mountain dew too fast so we must make a pit stop.

Now we are further behind! But wait..when did we get into SC? Oh well..tiny sign was tiny. Wow that trip went fast..parking? What parking? We traveled in a big square around the school trying to find Gate 3 which was apparently guest parking. We finally found it back where we had originally started and so we got the car parked and I threw on Allen and headed to the convention. When we got in there the reg line was significantly longer then expected. Crap. And it was only a little after 10. I'll just sneak over here to the cosplay contest desk and sign up before I register. With that done I stole Cardcaptorkiki's badge so I could go to the bathroom..which I needed desperately at that point. (Blame it on the Pepsi One). Pam was dressed as the Doctor (5th..I think..told you there were doctors involved) but forgot her ID, so she had to run all the way back to the car. And was immediately regretting the four layers with a cordorroy jacket and a wool scarf. HA.

But then once she was back we went to stand in the reg line, but we kept getting stopped for pictures so getting into line took a lot longer then expected. And Pam kept getting recognized and so she was busy handing out sugar baby candy. Finally in line we were there about 1/2 an hour before we got our badge and then went in to find Aduial and Kiki.

Elke went off to take pictures and we all discussed getting something to eat. As we were sitting there discussing I was going through the con booklet and was like..wait..I recognize this name..maybe this was the cosplay contest person from ConCarolina that like fangirled over my Rorschach...hmmm...

We headed to the cafeteria and got some Chik-Fil-A to munch on while Pam went off to her Doll meet. Just as we left the cafeteria I met up with Pam again who now wanted to eat..so while Kiki and them went off to change, I went with her BACK to the cafeteria. When we were done we met up with Kiki and Adiual and crew again and headed upstairs to take some pictures since they were in Digimon costumes and wanted pictures.

While we were upstairs people started to cough. First the group behind me started, then Kiki and everyone started, and finally I started. It reminded me of when you sprinkle too much pepper on something and you breathe it in. So we all vacated the upstairs thinking that there was something upstairs that was making people cough. Well when we got downstairs more people were coughing and we found out what happened. Apparnetly some idiot had sprayed mace and we were all getting affected by it. It's not every con that you get maced..Hurray for firsts?

So Zipchan tried to tell everyone to go outside and get some fresh air. We met up with Elke again and headed outside..where we prompty lost kiki and crew..ONLY WE TOTALLY DIDN'T because apparently they were only a few feet away taking pictures and we were totally oblivious.

So since it was Three o'clock I decided to go and start getting changed into Flaming Fai because it could potentially take long time to get the kimono on and I had to be at judging at 4. After I expertly tied my obi we headed back to the con and I went to the bathroom to make sure everything looked good and to try and get my gold contact in. Which refused to settle once again! Stupid thing...

So then we rushed off to the contest and waited to be judged. And I got in there and this was the conversation:

*cue many jokes about flaming and being on fire Then....*
Concarolina person: Wait...are you Rorschach?
Me: *LAUGH* YESSSSS

So yeah, it was totally her and she is awesome and nice. And so I told what I did in about 30 seconds..but then Morgan was like can you do a 360 for us? And I wa slike..yessss..i can do a swishy 360~ And picked up my butt cape and did so XD And so then she commented about how flowy it was and I started rambling about the fabric I used and how I painted the thing and why I did this and that and so my 30 seconds turned into like...A LONG TIME. And then I apologized for rambling and ran away.

So after we were all done being judged we went down for more food. This time Pizza hut. I was verrrry careful to not get anything on the white. Four napkin/bibs for the win. Then we went outside to take a few pictures before going off to get in the line for our walk-ons. And standing in line was HOT. It was the first time I actually got hot all day. But they lined us up and we went and did our walk-ons and they passed out awards. Easiest, smoothest, fasted contest ever. Love it. And some of the grestest judges awards ever. Seriously. Epic glasses? Best use of a volleyball? Pure win.

Flames for the win. Award winning hotel room for us. And then we discussed what to do and Elke had to stay to take pictures of the rave, so I agreed to stay with her and the others went off to the hotel room. We decided to eat soba at the maid cafe. so i stripped the kimono down to my waist, covered myself with the table cloth and prepared to make a mess of myself..when the gave us chopsticks to eat with. I was like..oh god..my nemisis..where is Kurogane when I need him. And so there are epic fail pictures of my trying to use chopsticks. (Yes Fai and I are very alike...)

So after Elke got a few pictures we started on an epic adventure to find the hotel..which involved going out the entrance of the parking garage..yeah I'm not sure how that happened but it did and luckily the gate was up so there wasn't any issues. And then as we were trying to find the hotel we were like..hey..we've been lost here before. But eventually we found the hotel which was ironically enough the same one I stayed in last year.

So once we found our hotel room (which also proved interesting) we got settled in for the night.

And woke up to another ungodly early waking hour...why..I'm not sure. But when I got up my eye was gooey and yucky and red and I couldn't open it and it hurt. And I put a gallon of eye drops into it and tried to wash away the gunk but it was still pretty sore so I said, screw it to the contacts and Kurogane wore glasses. We headed to the con and just lingered around for a couple hours before starting the trek home.

And we were like..lets go to Animania! Since it was going on today XD So after getting stuck in traffic twice, we somehow made it back to Winston in time to go to FYE. I threw on a quick version of the kimono (minus butt cape and eyepatch) and we hung out with the guy who runs Animania and he gave me a $25 gift card XD I was like..WHOOT. 2nd one of the weekend. And so I spent it..and got the next box set of Naruto Shippuden...and I also bought a Naruto t-shirt that was on clearance. And signed up for the FYE discount thing..so really that gift card cost me like $70. Fail.

But then we headed back to Elke's place, moved my stuff into her car and then headed home.

And I'm sure more happened but my eye hurts and I'm tired and I just can't think anymore.
