Katsucon 2010 Part II
Here is Saturday and Sunday of the report. Nothing too exciting XD But at least it is done..more then I can say about some conventions.
SATURDAY
Woke up at 6 and went down to work on the skit and put together the props. Exhausted, grumpy and not feeling well this was NOT how I wanted to spend my morning but I couldn't complain really because we didn't get to practice on Friday because I was busy with photoshoots and the contest and whatnot. So in partial costume I dragged my way downstairs with an armload of pipes that would become a wall. And since I didn't know how to put anything together I just stayed out of the way and curled up on the couches that were outside Main events while everyone else put it together. At 8:30 we went in for rehearsal and found out we were one of the last skits. UGG. So we had to sit there until about 11AM until it was our turn to practice. Our run through was pretty clean despite the fact we were missing a section of our wall that apparently got left behind. We made due with the pieces we had and it worked out.
We then went back up to the room and I changed into Ferio so I could hang out with Elke in her Clef outfit. We were only in them about an hour because she got really hot. I didn't mind though since Ferio was pretty rushed and didn't look good at all. So then I went back up and changed into Yusuke with the rest of my group so we could go down to judging and line up. We walked around for a little while until we had to be backstage. Luckily we were the first group to get judged so we did that and then went back out to wander around before we were forced to stay backstage.
At 5:30 we were stuck backstage for the skits. There were several good ones and then we did ours and things went well. No major issues I don't think. We ended up winning the Cosplay Idol's award and Tyki's Judges Award for Craftsmanship. The cosplay Idol is so adorable. I'm glad we won her award. People kept coming up to us afterwards and telling us how hilarious it was. So it seems to have gone over well, which is good.
Then it was time for Tsubasa Magnet fun times! Deathgod had never seen the artwork and I just told her to bring a red shirt and her Kurogane wig and I would take care of the rest. So we got into our business shirts and I showed her the fanart and she helped me tie my tie and off we went! I told her I would be happy if just one person recognized us and as soon as we were on the elevator we ran into Rukawagf who was like.."Are those Magnet headphones?" And I was like yes they are >D And then on the next floor two people got on and immediately recognized them from the artwork!! I was crazy excited. XD I just kind of smirked at Deathgod because victory had been mine!
So we went off to get some food with Kahn and everybody at the sports bar. Deathgod and I shared a cheeseburger because I didn't figure I could eat a whole lot. While we waited for our food, Katie and Michelle and I played with my little spinning Mokona who was having a lot of fun on the smooth surface of the table. While we were eating the Fai at the table next to us asked for a picture. So huzzah for being recognized at least for the characters again >D.
After dinner Deathgod and I went with Rayne to get some pictures. Rayne took the ones at the fountains for us so we could try and recreate the fanart. Luckily the fountain show was going on at the time so we got to get some really neat shots. We traded off taking pictures of her, and her of us. We traveled all over the hotel doing that. At one point Deathgod and I went on top of the little wooden bridge and as we were posing I told her it reminded me of our Getbackers photoshoot. This lead to breaking down into laughter as we remembered that shoot.
Around midnight we all started to get tired so we headed back upstairs. I packed a little bit since everyone was still awake and then we all passed out after watching the skit on my camera that Elke was kind enough to tape for us.
SUNDAY
Woke up and some madness occurred trying to figure out how to get to our Infinity photoshoot and check out at the same time. WE all got dressed and headed downstairs for our shoot but Chopper was no where to be found. EBK snagged a few shots for us and while he was doing that Chopper called and told us to meet him up by the gazebo. We headed up there but around 11:30, Shey had to go up and finish packing so she could get out of the room. Around 12 Chopper arrived and Katie and I started the photoshoot until Deathgod was able to get back to us. Then we wandered around doing pictures for about an hour until Evenstar called and said she was loading the truck. So I ran upstairs and got my stuff with the help of Deathgod and somehow crammed it all into Evenstar's truck. I said goodbye and crammed myself into the truck as well.
The trip was relatively uneventful and I got home from the convention a lot earlier then I normally do, thanks to Evenstar's driving and need to get home for a test on Monday.
Overall Katsucon was a good con. I had some down moments but I had a lot of up moments. I'm definitely glad that Katsucon will be going back to the Gaylord Hotel. That place is amazing.

Did I? XD Ek..its cause I never know what to put in the stupid report. I think I also used your coscom name in my DA report and I tried to remember to switch them all here..and missed a few. Ah well LOL
