Had to happen Someday

tohma2004oh god...so sick. Headache,coughing, sore throat...right now I'm wrapped in my heating blanket trying to stop the chills, yet my face is flushed and hot. x_x
Had to figure 6000 people in a tiny hotel was going to mean bad things. I just didn't know I was going to get hit this quick. Perhaps getting that Neulasta, extra immune system boost shot, before the cons while I was on chemo was actually helping me avoid the con sickness...
Got my Jade Fai back today! Phew..my baby..so glad its home. I've been so nervous it was lost in the mail. Got an honorable mention certificate, free pattern certificate, and a Simplicty sewing book. Pretty cool really, even if I didn't win any money I'm pretty happy. ^^
Con report...should do that..I think I managed to see everyone on my friends list at least once. I had to laugh when one person came up and was like, "Were you the Chuck cosplayer from AUSA?" Epic win XD!! i wasn't even in Chuck.
I guess i can kind of summerize the con
Thursday, Utai and I headed to the con around eleven. The wind was unreal. When we arrived, Dark had to hold the cart and my trunk open while I unloaded. Because I had the roof down in order to unload the wind was picking things up and blowing them away. Ginji's wig went flying and I had to run across the parking lot and catch it. It was hilarious, cold, and frustrating all in one. Then we headed to the con in Getbackers and took some awesome photos.
I started out Friday in Edward. I got called Shorty about 50 thousand times. I met an Armstrong who was EPICLY AWESOME. And I wore two left shoes for 8 hours. Yep. Walmart's fault, not mine. Didn't realize until I had them on for about an hour and then I was looking at them and thinking 'something doesn't look right'. I think Elke figured it out first. My feet hurt pretty bad and I took it off any time I had the chance. I'll have to replace them before I wear Ed again. Met up with Deathgod02 and crew in their humonculi outfits and we tried to get some pictures before I had to get changed. Sadly our Lust and Envy were late so I didn't get to get pictures with them. I did get to meet waynekaa for the first time, which was awesome ^^
We decided to do the Quest for the Katsu Crystal which was actually fairly entertaining. We worked out a game plan and since I was the only one with a camera I was in charge of the photo section.
Friday night was epic Tokyo arc photos. I put it on around 9, but we didn't get all assembled until 11. Then we went in the stairwell and took many spiolerish photos before we were ready to collapse and get some sleep. It was then that Sanzo had the desire to do some bed shots of me and Kurogane. They were scandalous and awesome XD
Did I mention Chopper was there! Yep, same Chopper that did the Otakon Furuba documentary of us so many years ago. It was his first Katsucon..I hope it isn't his last because of the bad location we had this year.
Saturday was Yu Yu Hakasho day and epic photoshoot of epic proportaions with lionboogy. We were late getting started but in the end there were hilarious times in my car being 'manly' and cruising. It was surprising how popular the show was when we finally got into the hotel.
I did see Rayvah who I snapped a picture of her with her Neji forehead protector upside down XD
After that I threw on Vampire Fai for a couple photos but I was growing increasing tired and my vampire contact was bothering me, so we went back and I started to put on Sakura.
With Sonnet and Kakyou's help I was able to get it on in an hour. Then it was off to bounce around the hotel..or attempt to anyway. When I was standing in the lobby, Lionboogy passed by and did a double take XD I went from MAAAAN to..fluffy girl.
Once Sanzo was downstairs in her Syaoran we headed to the con. She had to carry the back of my dress to keep it from getting dirty. Walking around the con was nearly impossible. But while I was standing around waiting for the masq to end, I talked with a crossplayer dressed as Belle who gave me tips on how to walk up and down the escalators in the dress. He was really nice!
Once the masq was over I went in to watch the awards. Rayvah won an honorable mention for her Riku!! A bunch of people I knew won, so it was awesome. And then Rukawagf showed up and sat with me. We chatted about cosplay and tried to figure out when we could cosplay Blood+ together. We also realized we have been friends a long time XD She won 2 judges awards which was also awesome since it was her first skit.
Once the awards were all done I found Dark and Krad and I hid Krad under my skirt XD It ate a lot of men that night. I thought about hanging around for the dance but the line crew to impossible proportions so we retreated upstairs were we discussed the possibility of going to the maid cafe. Unfortunetly, the line for that was also incredibly long so we decided against it. While I was standing around Vikki came up in her Syaoran and soon there were three puffy dressed Sakura's surrounding her XD We did end up getting drinks at the bar which was expensive but yummy! A much needed celebration. Rayvah gave us her table since it was so packed in there. While there we chatted with Elke, Krad, and Evenstar and discussed the complexities of Tsubasa.
I was walking around with Krad and Evenstar when I realized what time it was (2AM) and decided to head back to the hotel.
Sunday was pretty low key. I was in baby Fai and wandered around with Kakyou and Sanzo in the dealer's room. I found adorable Hitman Reborn figures that I had to get a couple of. Though I did fail to find anything that was on my shopping list.
Krad found me and we wandered around saying goodbye to people before heading to the car around 3. We loaded up all the stuff and headed on the way, only to end up in traffic. Once in traffic I received 2 voice mails. One that was on my phone since Friday apparently (stupid hotel black hole) and one from Kakyou saying to had car trouble. I tried to call her back but her phone was dead so I called and gave her Deathgod's number, hoping she could maybe help.
Turns out she had a dead battery, but even after staying at the hotel 2 hours longer then us..she beat us home by 2 hours -_- That trip is waaaay too long. And next year it will be longer x_x
All in all...An okay convention. I have complaints, the hotel was way too small, but overall I did accomplish what needs to be accomplished at cons. Met people, socialized and had fun with friends I only get to see a few times a year.
Hey Dee...if you could pick me up the Cosmode I am in..I'd appreciate it -_- The bookstore wasn't at the con and no one had it.
Its sad that I won't see anyone until Animazement..and even sadder that I won't see most people until Otakon. I wish I lived close enough to hang out more..but I don't forsee that happening for a long long time...
But there it is! Katsucon 2009 done! Now to resize 500 pictures >_>
